Ever wonder why most people never forget their cup of coffee, they can’t even go a day without it? I’m sure that you are also aware of the “you can sleep when you’re dead” kind of mentality.
This post might explain things a bit. There are said to be a
number of effects to human health and mentality in taking caffeine. Caffeine
intake has been one of the topics that have been continuously researched for
further understanding of its positive and negative effects on the human body. It
is very important to know these things since caffeine consumption nowadays is
skyrocketing. Caffeine is found in coffee, tea, soda, energy drinks, and more, well
furthermore, a huge percentage of adults have been addicted, well, hooked to this.
That is why this might really tickle your fancy.
When taken in moderation, caffeine could be considered very
beneficial. The cliché that, “everything is harmful when taken in excess”, is a
fact. Such as the main and all-time favorite source of caffeine, is coffee.
Whether it is in school, or office, coffee shop or home, indoors or outdoors,
caffeine has never missed an event.
Here are the reasons why your mama says coffee is bad for you:
It reduces your control of fine motor movements.
Fact is that it is a stimulant. It stimulates your
metabolism and central nervous system. It goes something like this; People move
and act funny when they are nervous, they shake when they’re afraid, and caffeine,
in addition, would just aggravate everything. You will end up shaking uncontrollably
like a soaked cat.
It increases your anxiety level, and it’s totally addictive.
It is
strongly advised that you should not drown yourself in coffee or any
caffeinated beverage whatsoever before a report presentation, or interview, or
anything that would have your future at stake. Caffeine won’t help much if you think
maybe you will drink something to keep you up before let’s say an interview. Some
people become alive, alert, awake, and stupid after being high with caffeine.
However, they still can’t stop their craving, because again, it is also addictive.
It increases vasoconstriction and blood pressure.
For heavy drinkers or caffeine
consumers, consuming four or more cups a day would not have any effect on the
risk of having a heart problem or condition such as hypertension and
palpitations. In contrast to this, it is a bit shocking, to know that those who
have one to three cups per day may be at a slightly high risk. Probably this is
due to tolerance, which is developed by heavy or frequent consumers,
especially those associated with addiction.
It stimulates urination.
Most
people might commonly complain on having the urge to poop after a few cups of
coffee. That could be true, especially for people who have sensitive digestion.
Moreover, it is also proven that caffeine also stimulates urination, since it
is a mild diuretic. The thing why people don’t often notice this is because
most of them have been consuming caffeine more than they should. The diuretic effect
of caffeine is shown to be tolerable to regular consumers
Now, enough with the bad stuff, let’s go through the good stuff, so not to burst much of your bubbles:
It increases attention and alertness, and best of all, it decreases fatigue.
When taken in moderation, caffeine’s
stimulant effect can be put to good use. With this being said, effects would
also vary depending on body size, and tolerance. People, who work, especially
on shifting schedules, depend on energy drinks and coffee to increase
wakefulness. You know how difficult it is to focus on something when you are so
tired and sleepy, right? Well, a serving of caffeine can kick the drowsiness
away.
It can lower the risk of heart disease.
This might be contrary to the one
mentioned earlier. However, again, if taken in moderation, caffeine intake can
really be beneficial. It is said to lower the risk of cardiovascular disease.
It can boost long term memory.
Somewhat, but this is really an indirect effect of ingesting caffeine. This is just probably due to its stimulating effect that gives you increased focus and clearer flow of thoughts. Then again, it is still associated with the consumption, right? So drink your up, in moderation, of course!
It puts a smile on people’s faces.
I know, this is somewhat
psychological, but drinking our daily cup always makes us good to go for a long
day, right? Well, there. The lack of sleep sometimes is not much of a burden
anymore one’s we have our daily caffeine consumption.
Majority of people love coffee.
Let’s just always put into consideration the effects that it would cause when
we are having too much.
