How do you peel?

Ways to save your skin by avoiding a raw peel.

I live in a tropical country where it’s sunny almost every day of the entire year. I have got to tell, there is nothing more excruciatingly painful than a sun burn, especially when you are peeling. Most people might say that they are used to high temperatures, well if you came from deep way down let’s say Satan’s lair, then maybe you are used to be exposed under the blazing heat. It is not healthy and would be extremely harmful to your skin’s health. Anyone can get sunburn from the merciless sun’s rays, added by the fact that the Earth is suffering from “global warming”. The weather nowadays is crazy. It gets very hot during the day; you might even ponder on applying an SPF100 everyday if possible.

Exposing yourself under the sun for too long, especially without applying sun cream, could surely cause you an uncomfortably painful sunburn.. Much worse, it could even last for a week, without proper treatment. Some people would peel their skin after they had been sunburned, which is not such a good idea. You’ll be only be facing another dermal problem that could possibly haunt you for life. So, avoid dong it the wrong way. As tempting as it is, picking, pulling, and scraping at dead epidermis is way too awful. Doing it carelessly could just end up to something you would surely regret.

The tips below are way too much better than torturing yourself:

1. When the skin is flaking, just brush it off instead of puling at the pieces.

Literally pulling the flaking skin might tag along some healthy parts as well. This might cause a minor bleed and possible scarring, not to mention, painful sensation.

2. Be careful not to tear off the non-peeling skin, it would be painful and could lead to a scar.

This is just the same as the first one. It is just that some people are either just too gullible or just having some vision problems that they also peel off the healthy skin seeing some very minor peelings on it. Again, you will only hurt yourself.

3. If there are any big pieces of flaking skin, you might as well use a clipper or cuticle scissors to snip the dead skin.

Make sure to use a clean clipper or scissors and just cut off a few millimetres away from the base of your skin so as to avoid further discomfort

4. You can also use moisturizer to soften up the skin and help it repair itself.

Your skin is prone to dry out; this would cause more visible flaking and skin tearing. Moisturizing it could both give you comfort and aid your skin’s healing process.

5. The next time you’ll go out on a very sunny day, don’t even dare the sun’s heat. Use sunblock or sun cream, SPF36 is usually recommended.

Ever heard of the saying, “prevention is better than cure”? Well, it applies in this scenario quite well. If you know that it’s going to be a very sunny day, always make sure you go protected.
